Rainbow Foods After my dads store closed…I think I still had the paper route…Im not totally sure. After I graduated from high school, I moved down to Eagan, MN to go to Brown Institute to get a degree in radio and TV broadcasting. Shortly after I moved down there, I got a job at Rainbow foods, the only place I applied to, as a grocery stocker. I started on the cash registers and pretty much stayed there throughout my employment. As a cashier, I had to memorize most of the codes u...
Continuing my articles about the jobs I have worked... The Store Towards the end of my paper carrier days...my Dad opened up a ice cream shop in town. A short background on him. He had planned on going into the Diocese to become a Catholic priest. He then changed his mind for some reason or another and went to college to get a degree in Business. Afterwards, he worked as a salesman for a large international mining equiment manufacturer. After about 15 years, he was let go in ...
So...last week I posted a thread on a situation Im currently in and I ended up talking about some of the jobs I worked about in the past...mainly to show that I do work and do a variety of things. Well that got me to thinking that I could make a series of threads on here on the jobs I have had in the past and where Id like to be in the future. I figured Id make a couple of threads over the next week or whatever and list my jobs and why I worked them...etc. Paper Routes The first...
Hi all, Ok...so a big issue for Marcie and I is our finances. Marcie has the full time job so she is making more than me, by a lot. Im working when I get called, contrary to the "youll be working every day" thing they told me earlier. She makes x amount and is, being the primary money maker, paying most of the bills. I have about 700 bucks of bills a month related to my bike and other bills (bike loans 1 and 2, credit card, college loans, netflix, and bike insurance). Now...I dont...
This just occured to me out of nowhere tonight. I Havent paid too close attention to the blogs to notice if there has been any recent debate into this as far as creation vs evolution. But I had an idea...maybe its been said before too, not sure. Why not let the kids, those who are being taught, choose what they want to learn? This may sound silly, but I remember back a month or so ago, reading about a district where the super / principal had students take part in the interview proce...
The following is an article I recieve from an educator...Steven Simpson. He writes an article and you can find it at: http://www.edbriefs.com/ He used to write about education news. Now he writes his own commentary on education topics. As some of you know...my girlfriend Marcie wrote an article talking about her dealings with parents, both the good and the bad. From there it turned into a flame fest until she was confined for defending her point of view on her own blog. Anyways...
I guess this is going to be a short blog...more less a rant. Last November, I purchased a brand new motorcycle from a Honda Dealership in Las Vegas. I ended up paying wayyy too much for the bike as I realized after the fact. Rather infuriated when I found out how much dealers in other states were selling them for...I went back and talked to the dealer and showed them what other people have paid for the same bike. The dealers response was "guys like to lie about what they spent on thei...
FYI...this is long. Well, we finally made it. Marcie and I moved up to Austin, MN as she got hired as a first grade teacher. Myself, I dont have a job yet, but according to her and the some people at the personell office, I can substitute every day if I want...so I will be doing that. I was hoping to have some time to look for any late minute openings up here for regular positions, but I havent had the time as Ive been unpacking boxes and bags...trying to get things squirt away. Only...
Many people know that my girlfriend Marcie (JU: MarcieHelen) is headed up to MN as we are moving up there. She left early Tuesday with my car hauling my bike behind it in a Uhaul trailer. Well...I figured I could make this a daily blog of how she is doing to keep everyone up to date because there seems to be some interest in how she is doing. Instead of making a new blog entry every day...I will just write replies to this particular blog article itself. Tuesday... She left around...
Marcie (JU...Marciehelen) left this morning around 7 am or so. She woke up, I think at 5:30. But knowing her, she could have been up before and I just didnt know it. I was dead to the world...despite my alarm. I went back to bed and she finally got me up when she was getting ready to finish loading up the car. She called me a little while ago as she was in AZ by now....230 miles from here. She called to say the car was overheating and here I am feeling dumb because its my car. App...
I dont write that many blogs. I try not to write something unless its something that I myself can create on my own. Meaning...its not something Im taking from the news or from someone elses blog..although Ihave done that in the past. Other bloggers on here just try to accumulate as many points as possible and blog so many times each day....it makes you wonder what, if anything, that they do for a living that lets them spend so much time writing about the junk going on in their life...or w...
So I just read on a forum that I belong to that a fellow biker was clocked at going 82 in a 65. I was surprised by his later reply and some replies on the board. Hmm...maybe I should make a blog post on how people really dont face up to the choices that they make and they trie to swindle their way out of the stupid ones they did make. Later on...after some replies...this guy said that maybe he will get one of his police friends to make some calls for him so he can get it wiped off....
Ok...well myself being a government employee (professional educator), this doesnt apply to all that work for the government. I dont know what it is that drives people to sit down and look at a computer all day and call that a career. But, these people sometimes do that. Maybe its lack of a decent education, no desire to succeed, who knows. Let me clarify...this article is specifically directed with the DMV in mind. There are many many people who work for Uncle Sam and for that, I app...
Well today, I managed to get my big ol room all cleaned up and checked out. I handed in the keys to the office staff; checked off everything I could. I had various support staff check off requirements, saying I was ok to leave. And then I left. Felt weird. It felt weird looking in my room, nothing like what it did a week earlier. It felt weird when I went to bed and already couldnt immediately pull up an image of the classroom. Felt weird knowing I wouldnt see my kids again for a l...
Ill admit...Im the kind of person who really doesnt want to tick off his boss. There are some people who probably have no prob with telling their boss off...Im just not that kind of person. Im also not the kind, however, that wants to get his boss mad...so Ill do a small amount of kissing butt to make sure I stay on the good side. Today, I was called in for a meeting...Im not going to go into details about what the meeting was about...but it was a result of a surprise walk through my pri...
