Well I was going to write a big ol blog about the bad parts of our trip....but whats the point of just writing negative stuff....or mostly negative stuff. My girlfriend Marcie (JU: MarcieHelen) and I live in Las Vegas...and we wanted to go somewhere else for Thanksgiving since we are so far away from family anyways. She had the idea of going to San Diego a few months ago and thats where we went.
We ended up staying at a Ramada over there....paying wayyyy toooo much for a Thanksgiving buffet dinner which we will never do again. Afterwards...we drove down to the beach for a latenight stroll and playing in the sand a little.
The next day we went to the San Diego zoo and spent a good chunk of the day there. Im not much of a zoo person...I dont know ....maybe if I just got out more and stuff....but this zoo was amazing. I have been to a few zoos before and this was by far the best and its world reknown for being such a good zoo. They really do a good job of keeping natural themes there as it felt like we were in a jungle setting. One thing that still has me wondering...is there is a peacock exhibit which as far as i saw...had no walls. Well it had three walls..but nothing on the other wall facing our sidewalk. They could just leave if they wanted to. I couldnt figure that out. I know they dont have tags or antyhing that will zap them...but I couldnt figure out why they wouldnt leave their pen. All of the other ones were closed up...except this one. I highly reccomend anyone to go to that zoo if visiting San Diego or just that part of CA.
After the zoo, we drove down for a wonderful sunset at the beach where we collected some shells and a large cup of sand. We had dinner at Dennys then came back to the hotel to crash and get some sleep for Tejuuannah (yeah I know I messed up the spelling there).
At least....TRY to get some sleep. I have a ear and resporatory (spelling there too) infection that I have been fighting for a couple of weeks...now on drugs....but still......I coughed all night long. We cancelled the trip to TJ and just wanted to sleep in.
When we woke up...we checked out....and went to get my car fixed at the local chevy dealership. The driver side window didnt want to go up. Anywho...they fixed it quick and we got back on the road.
On the way back....I was soooooo happy that I was not coming back into San Diego....or even traveling west. The westward lanes were so packed the entire way back...it seriously was like a 330 mile long back up. From the top of one tall mountain/ hill.....we could see a solid line of headlights going back to the horizon.
We finally got back late and Marcie started putting up our Christmas stuff.
All in all, it was a good weekend...other than the fact that I was sicker than a dog.
