And I enjoyed it!

Today one of my many...superiors came to see me today. Mind you, Im quite a bit away from the offices and the shipping dock, I never see my boss or anybody else, only communicate via messages or the phone.

This morning on my drive as I was going towards my first stops, I found out that I was to meet him later on in the day at another stop. We met up and he helped me unload my freight and we talked about various things...questions and concerns that I had and such.

Turns out that since I've been there for a few months, they needed to do another evaluation as per their policy. He did this as we drove around town towards my load swap with another driver and to my final delivery. I feel I did much better as I've been driving for a few months now and I felt much more relaxed, and we chatted and joked around, something I wasn't able to do back in Oct. because I was so nervous.

During our load swap, the three of us talked for a while about concerns we had and we were reassured that the company was looking into them and working on getting them fixed quickly.

We also talked about various shifting techniques and such and other methods to imrpove MPG. My mileage sucks right now because I leave the truck running at night lately (before I go to bed, I go and fire up the truck and let it run overnight) because of the cold temps. Im off the hook right now because of that, but when I stop running the truck overnight, I will need to see what my average MPG so I can see if I need to improve.

All in all, it was a pleasent surprise, he had no concerns and I was rather happy to see someone else from the company. Rather cool to me that they come out to check on their drivers and such.
