Delapidated Apartment

Well I just finished training with the company I was hired on to. I trained in the MTNs of CO for about four days, leaning a bunch more than I thought I would. Im doing very well with slow speed manuvering as well as backing up in tight spots. Still need to improve, but thats always a goal to improve on something. I was scheduled to come home today, but I was doing well enough that he sent me home for the weekend. Then on Tuesday I will go to Denver where I will take a final drive test (and inspections). Then sent up to Cheyenne WY to take my DMV test. Only concern is that Im learning the companies way, and the DMV way is different, so I need to study how the DMV wants their stuff performed...such as the air brake tests...etc. If all goes well, I will be assigned a Freightliner Century with a sleeper cab. Then I will start running the route and will run it a few times with the current person doing it...and then Im on my own.

Unfortunately Im sick as well. My roomie at training had a cold and passed it onto me, and while doing the OTR training, my new roomie and instructor both smoked which just messed me up. Coughing up all sorts of colorful things now...mmmm yummy

While I was gone, someone keyed my car, both doors, both sides. Rather big gash and looks like it was bigger than a key...like a flat head screwdriver. Had the cops come by last night and I filed a report, not that Im expecting much, but worth a try. Thankfully its a black colored car so I can just get some glossy black rustoleum and shes fixed, lol.

Also while I was gone, we developed a leak somewhere in the house, the plumber (or so he is called) came over to fix it, but whatever he did didnt work. Because now its leaking in the laundry room, and bathroom downstairs from the ceiling. The light fixture (globe type deal) in the laundry room is filled up completely with water. Fire hazard, yay! They made a hole in the sheetrock which I expanded to seat where the water is coming from. Its coming from the kitchen area which is confusing as there shouldnt be any pipes in the ceiling up there. But then again, I can see that the sheetrock in the kitchen is bubbling and has water in it. I called last night and the landlord hasnt sent anyone over yet. The carpet upsairs is still wet and probably getting moldy along with the floorboard underneath. Thankfully, almost half of the heaters in the house work.
