Should have wore bell bottoms.
Sort of like a part 2 to my previous post. Went to the other town today to start cleaning up on the apartment. We went and rented a Rug Doctor wide track and got some carpet cleaner as well as odor remover. There are only 2 bedrooms and a living room, none of which are really that big, but I ran about 10 gallons (or five tanks) of water just on the living room alone...dark, sandy junk each time....holy crap. The place was not cleaned before we moved over there...the previous renters just up and left and nobody thought to get a pro to come in and clean it. I then carpet cleaned the bedrooms and used the hose to take care of the stairs. I only used about 2 tanks on those three things. Marcie said it looked cleaner (although you could still see the shadow of where their couch was). And with her cleaning throughout the house with bleach and all sorts of chemicals...I couldn't really tell if the place smelled any cleaner. She took a mop to the celing and got rid of the smokers stains (I figure the humidity made little droplets and the junk from the cigarette smoke combined with that and the droplets evaporated, leaving stains on the ceiling.)
So on Thursday I get to drive for a few hours and pick up the rental truck. Even though Uhaul is here in town, I love Penske for more reasons I can count, and the gal was able to not only match Uhauls price, but she gave me 2 more days free ontop of that. The only downside is that I will drive an extra 200 miles or so with the truck (actually will be driving the truck more empty, than loaded). But, I really dont think I can get a Uhaul loaded, moved, emptied and checked in, in two days. Now I won't be in so much of a rush.
